Hello everyone! I am excited for what we all have coming up in 2014. I remember thinking we were doomed in 2000 and secretly crossed my fingers behind my back, hoping for the world to keep turning. It has now, for 13 years and we are entering year 14 and it seems crazy.
Imagine yourself back in the day, watching some 80’s movie that would depict a year like 2014. It sure doesn’t look like what they thought it would. Advances in science have certainly come a long way, but instead of a Star Trek type Tricorder (and i realize Star Trek was way more in the future than now) to diagnose and record patient information and stats, our doctors use I-Pads and whatever else. We certainly must look futuristic walking around with phones that can do almost anything a computer can do. What sucks is that we don’t have flying cars like I thought we might have by now. Maybe we aren’t ready for that, upon further thought. If what they say is true, we may soon have drones that will drop off your Amazon order fifteen minutes after you order it. Those scary ass drones had better stay away from me.
When I think of the future nowadays I don’t think so much about the flying cars or drones or Tricorders; I think about the advances we could see in things like telepathy, Reiki healing, chakras, psychic abilities and so much more. Imagine if we all had to meditate each day at work for at least thirty minutes – all mandatory. What if we were made to attend classes on how to be more tolerant at work and how to treat each other fairly instead of having throngs of courses and acknowledgements that the lawyers make us do?
I could go on and on about things we can/should do to make the world better, but we all already know what these things are. We fight with ourselves on a daily basis (at least most of us do) as to whether we should be the person we know we are supposed to be. Maybe your choice is not the most popular choice in your crowd. I know I have been made fun of plenty of times for the things I believe. I can remember me saying something to someone a while back, “Maybe that’s who I was in a past life…” or something like that. She laughed at me and exclaimed, “A past life!?! That’s SO funny!!!” I could only imagine what she would think if I told her everything else I thought. Co-workers would swear by my ability to help them heal if I touched them. I would just ask the all-that-is to help heal someone; I truly don’t think I, alone, am doing this. But when she would see me put my hand over someone’s back and close my eyes, I would hear her laugh quietly to herself. This never stopped me from trying to help someone.
The only thing holding us back from having a utopia is numbers. The majority rules in a collective. The way I figure is that in 2014 you should try to convert as many people as you can into our way of thinking. Sure it sounds a little cult-ish, but it’s not when we all seek to be equal and helpful and love one another. If someone encounters more negativity than positivity, it would make sense that their lives might seem more negative. If we all branch out and try to reach as many people as we can a day, I know it will make a difference. One act of kindness can go so far and several a day can reach the far depths of the universe.
